Children joining our Year 1 (7+ programme), Year 2 or Year 3 classes do not need assessments. Children looking to join from Year 4 |(11+ programme) up to Year 11 begin with a one-to-one assessment so we can understand their current level, strengths, and gaps. This helps us place them in the right programme.

The assessment usually includes:

  • a series of questions to test current capabilities, understand knowledge gaps and assess potential

  • a discussion with parent and child

  • a recommended learning plan and level

Absolutely. Many students join QSE Learning to:

  • work ahead of the school curriculum

  • build confidence and independence

  • strengthen exam technique

  • target top schools and high GCSE grades

We offer a structured approach based upon our 20+ years of success. This includes small group learning classes and tailored individual support depending on the programme and your child’s needs.

We track progress through:

  • regular assessments on key topics

  • homework progress book review

  • Mock exam tests

  • teacher feedback and progress updates

Yes. Homework is a key part of progress. It helps build:

  • consistency

  • discipline and responsibility

  • retention of skills learned in class

Every child progresses differently, but families typically see improvements in:

  • confidence

  • school performance

  • speed and accuracy

  • exam readiness

  • independent learning skills

Many parents notice improvement within 4–8 weeks, especially in confidence and routine. Strong academic improvement usually comes with consistent attendance and homework completion over time.
